Brain-Based Teaching Strategies And Sharing

Starting from the academic year 2020-2021, all the teachers at our school attended teachers’ training by Mr Ricky Chan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Brain and Mind Education, who is the only speaker providing ‘Brain-based Learning’ training in Hong Kong. Through various workshops, teachers have gained a deep understanding of brain-based teaching strategies that promote the coordination of brain chemicals of teachers and students, as well as children’s brain development. From the academic year 2021-2022 onwards, every teacher in our school has practically applied the strategies introduced in the workshops in class and Mr Ricky Chan has conducted systematic lesson observations and evaluations with teachers. This has created a positive classroom atmosphere and enhanced students’ learning motivation. Students are participating more actively and they are more focused in class. The increased interaction in class has enabled teachers to better address learner diversity in the classroom and provided students with the first-tier quality teaching support during lessons.

In addition, starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, Mr Ricky Chan has held workshops for our parents for four consecutive years, introducing brain-based techniques for supporting children at home. Parents have found the workshops beneficial and helpful on guiding their child.
